I’m going to write a computer game.
I’m going to write a computer game and I’m going to be a loving husband, caring father, efficient software engineer and joyful computer game player while I’m doing it.
I’m going to do all of that, and I’m going to document my journey.
Maybe I’ll write more than one; but lets not get carried away just yet.

I’m attempting this journey now. So far, I am an approachable husband, a stick-in-the-mud father, efficient software engineer, and a paranoid computer game player (when you have time for 80 hour work weeks, you better be looking over your shoulder when you decide to indulge in a one hour video game playing foray even while the wife is whining that she never sees you).
I should add that I have been in the planning phase of my computer game project for about ten years now, and I have no formal documentation to show for it.
I am in the process of re-examining my priorities. I am considering cutting out the “software engineer” part and inserting something a little more carefree like, say, “hermit”. If only hermiting paid the bills…

I don’t have to be a stick-in-the-mud father yet, my son is only 10 months old.
I’ve also been planning this for quite some time — maybe not ten years, but pretty close. I’m hoping that maintaining a blog about it will keep me motivated to follow through. I don’t want all the people I don’t know who are reading my blog to think I have no follow-through.
